The Sales Engineer will serve as subject matter experts and work directly with prospects/customers to present product capabilities, benefits, and value.
- Provide Coherent expertise to prospect/customer through compelling sales presentations, highly engaging product demonstrations and soundproof of Value (POVs)
- Act as the subject matter expert on the functional aspects of our products
- Create and deliver custom demos or POVs based on prospect requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or tailored product demo for the client
- Develop prospect and partner relationships by listening to, understanding, and anticipating prospect needs as part of the sales process
- Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams on product shortcomings, enhancements, and market feedback
- Serve as a thought leader and company subject matter expert on Coherent Spark
- Support customer success and onboarding, increase knowledge transfer, and reduce risk
- Travel when required, anticipate up to 15% of total time
- Other duties as assigned or required by management
What skills the candidate will need to get the job done
- Bachelor's Degree or an additional 4 years work experience
- Five (5) or more years of experience as software Sales Engineering, Pre-sales, strategy/management consulting, Analyst, product management, or delivery of enterprise SaaS application(s)
- Experience working in Banking & Capital Markets
- Strong Excel skills, including VBA, AWS Lambda, and Azure Functions
- Proven ability to learn new technology and product capabilities
- People Management / Interpersonal skills - experience dealing effectively with people in various roles
- Ability to constructively participate in a collaborative team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with initiative to manage prospect's issues to successful conclusion
- Proven ability to leverage and work across a team of high performing individuals and teams.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience working directly with customers and/or prospects
- Experience with positioning a SaaS value proposition
- Proven ability to manage other individuals in delivery of key projects
- Previous experience identifying client needs and relating to ROI/business benefit statements
