Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Leadership:Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Provide strategic direction and guidance to ensure a culture of safety at all levels of the organization
- Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
- Stay informed about changes in safety standards and update policies accordingly
- Risk Management:Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety
- Safety Training and Education:Provide leadership in delivering safety training programs to employees
- Collaborate with HR and department heads to ensure all employees receive appropriate safety education
- Incident Investigation:Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans
- Emergency Response Planning:Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures
- Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency protocols
- Safety Inspections:Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities, equipment, and work areas
- Collaborate with department heads to address identified safety concerns promptly
- Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions
- Prepare and submit reports on safety performance to management
