Senior Risk Consultant
Extreme Event Solutions at Verisk (formerly AIR Worldwide) is looking for a highly passionate, motivated individual to join the Consulting and Client Services Group. As a member of Verisk's consulting and client services team based in Hyderabad, you will provide support to their consulting teams around the world and provide services to their global insurance and reinsurance clients. Use your technical, analytical, and project management skills to work with clients to enhance their usage of the Verisk suite of solutions and help troubleshoot any software-related issues.
Proficiency in oral and written communication is highly desirable, particularly the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively. Prior experience in the visualization and communication of risk e.g. via animations, video, infographics or other means would be desirable (but not essential).
About the Day-to-Day Responsibilities for Senior Risk Consultant
Client Support:
Provide day-to-day support to clients, helping them use Verisk's software platforms (Touchstone, Touchstone Re, Any other Verisk products).
Respond to client questions promptly and work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve issues.
Conduct training sessions for new clients, covering workflow design, model results interpretation, and addressing adoption challenges.
Serve as an ambassador of Verisk, maintaining superior communication skills and attention to detail.
Projects:
Perform a wide range of risk analyses for consulting projects and client support, using catastrophe modelling software Touchstone/Re.
Analyze client exposure data against different perils and quantify natural catastrophe risk.
Understand and interpret losses, preparing various reports tailored as per client requirements.
Perform portfolio management studies to determine growth strategies, develop scoring templates, and risk metrics.
Participate in projects such as testing new software features and model releases.
Perform change management analyses for updated models and Verisk's Next Generation Models.
Provide support for any ad hoc project requests from clients or internal teams.
Team Management:
Assign tasks to team members and manage workflow in the absence of the Team Lead/Manager.
Audit and review the work done by other team members to ensure quality and adherence to client requirements.
Maintain clients Turn Around Time (TAT) and quality consistently.
Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Documentation and Reporting:
Document all client interactions, project progress, and risk analyses.
Prepare reports summarizing activities and any pending tasks.
Training and Development:
Continuously update knowledge on insurance and reinsurance business, catastrophe modeling software, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
About You and How You Can Excel in This Role
Requirements:
Location: Hyderabad (with the ability to work in the office three days a week)
Experience: Minimum of 4+ years in the catastrophe modeling industry, with a strong background in consulting and client services.
Technical Expertise: Proficient in using Touchstone and Touchstone Re, with hands-on experience in these platforms.
Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of insurance and reinsurance markets.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a solid understanding of probability concepts and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Organizational Skills: Excellent time management, multitasking, team player, and organizational skills.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and SQL. Coding skills in languages such as SQL, R, and Python are highly beneficial. Knowledge of ArcGIS is desirable.
Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Client Service: A commitment to providing excellent client service and maintaining strong client relationships.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Education
A Degree is required preferably in Insurance, mathematics, actuarial science, computer science or business is preferable.
