The F&B Hostess/ Restaurant Hostess is responsible for providing a warm and welcoming first impression to guests. This role plays a vital part in creating a positive dining experience by managing reservations, seating guests, and assisting in the coordination of restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Reception:
- Welcome and greet guests upon their arrival, providing a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Manage reservations and allocate tables, taking into consideration guest preferences and the flow of service.
- Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus, and ensuring they are comfortable.
- Reservation Management:
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and manage reservations effectively.
- Keep an organized record of reservations, special requests, and guest preferences.
- Communicate reservation details to the restaurant team to ensure smooth service.
- Guest Assistance:
- Assist guests with inquiries, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
- Offer information about the restaurant's menu, daily specials, and promotions.
- Notify servers of any special guest needs or requests.
- Restaurant Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager/F&B Manager and servers to manage the flow of guests and optimize table turnover.
- Ensure the restaurant is set up to meet service standards, including table settings and cleanliness.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of essential supplies such as menus and reservation books.
- Guest Farewell:
- Bid farewell to guests as they leave, expressing gratitude for their visit.
- Collect feedback on guest experiences and report any issues to management.
- Handle guest billing and payment as required.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including social distancing and sanitation protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host/hostess station.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in reservation management software and basic computer applications.
- Customer-focused with a positive and welcoming attitude.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
