Warwick Medical School is recruiting for a new role that will combine expert-level research support to our scientific community with helping to deliver rigorous lab-based training for our students. You will play a key role in ensuring our researchers are trained to work effectively and safely in the lab, and assist in maintaining the facilities and equipment we use within the department. The successful candidate will also provide support to academics in the provision of departmental teaching by helping organise and deliver practical projects for undergraduate students. The Technical Specialists Promotional pathway at Warwick (as part of our Technician commitment) would allow you to progress your career within the role commensurate with the level of contribution demonstrated, which could be evidenced through more senior management support or capital planning.

About You

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about supporting biomedical research, with proficiency in a range of research techniques and lab equipment used in this area. You will have experience in training and supervising students undertaking laboratory-based research projects and a thorough understanding of health and safety requirements. About The Department

Warwick Medical School's Division of Biomedical Sciences (BMS) conducts world-class discovery science and translational medicine and delivers interdisciplinary undergraduate and postgraduate educational programmes including MSci Integrated Natural Sciences, MSc Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences, BSc in Health and Medical Sciences and doctoral training programmes.

The Division is home to around 120 staff and 130 PhD students and operates across four laboratory buildings (Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Building, Mechanochemical Cell Biology Building, Biomedical Research Building) and teaching spaces on Gibbet Hill campus, and the Clinical Sciences Research Laboratories adjacent to UHCW.
