Role Description
Anadrone, a leading company in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), is seeking an experienced Research and Development (R&D) Manager with a profound background in Aerospace or Aviation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in deep aeronautics, aviation, and aerodynamics, particularly concerning fixed-wing UAV flight. The R&D Manager will be responsible for leading and managing innovative projects aimed at advancing Anadrone's UAV technology, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the research and development team to drive innovation and technological advancements in the field of fixed-wing UAVs.
2. Develop and implement strategic plans for R&D projects, aligning them with company goals and objectives.
3. Conduct thorough research on aerospace and aviation technologies, staying updated on industry trends and advancements.
4. Provide technical expertise in aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and control systems relevant to fixed-wing UAVs.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and production to ensure seamless integration of R&D initiatives into product development processes.
6. Oversee the design, testing, and evaluation of UAV prototypes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
7. Analyze data from flight tests and simulations to optimize UAV performance, stability, and efficiency.
8. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet project milestones and deliverables.
9. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the R&D team, encouraging creativity and exploration of new ideas.
10. Stay abreast of intellectual property laws and regulations, ensuring proper protection of company inventions and innovations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Technology, or a related field. Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in aerospace or aviation research and development, (with a focus on fixed-wing UAVs preferred).
3. Proven track record of successfully leading R&D projects from conception to commercialization.
4. In-depth understanding of aerodynamics principles, flight dynamics, and control systems relevant to fixed-wing UAVs.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
6. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
7. Experience working in a regulated industry, with knowledge of aviation regulatory standards and certification processes.
8. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and simulation tools used in aerospace engineering.
9. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. A passion for innovation and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of UAV technology in the aerospace industry.
