Role: Research Analyst (Credit Domain)

Job role and responsibilities:
- Analytical
- Analyze the annual and quarterly financial statements of NBFC/MFIs and HFCs
- Analyze the resource profile of the NBFC/MFI clients for details on interest, tenure, covenants, security, and structure of the lines from banks/DFIs.
- Analyze the asset quality of the portfolio at a product level, exposure bracket etc.
- Analyze the capital market transactions of the NBFC/MFIs
- Analyze the securitized pool.
- Analyze the structure of co-lending tie ups.
- Cash flow analysis with comments on the projections.
- Client facing
- Represent CRISIL while interacting with NBFC leadership, board, and officials (as part of diligent visits)
- Understand the business plans, key strategic levers, portfolio management plans etc.
- Understand and document the system, processes, and platforms for credit-risk management at NBFC/MFI
- Thought Leadership
- Develop competency and deep domain in the NBFC/MFI sector.
- Draft research paper articles and thought leadership reports on NBFC sector.
- Develop capabilities to represent CRISIL's credit research practices to industry forums, sessions with stakeholders (internal and external)
- Should be able to work on new and emerging areas in the NBFC sector and provide valuable insight to the clientele.
Candidate profile:
- Credit assessment professionals engaged with financial institutions credit assessment for a bank/NBFC in the FIG lending.
- 2-5yrs of experience with hands-on understanding of credit ratios, financial spreading, asset quality indicators, portfolio analysis, liquidity and ALM assessment, regulatory compliances, audit report analysis etc. in the NBFC credit assessment domain
- Understanding of the trends, industry structure and KFR in the NBFC sector
Key traits:
- Willingness to learn continuously, develop industry first practices on NBFC/MFI credit domain, leverage analytical tools (including AI, credit platforms at Crisil and internal knowledge ecosystem) to develop models and benchmarks relevant for the sector.
- Abilities to leverage the CRISIL ecosystem and connect the dots from macro to micro.
- Academic qualification: CA (preferred)/ MBA finance from Tier 1 institute
