Summary:
As part of State Street continued momentum to enable data to support business initiatives, the finance group have established the dedicated Data Operations and Solutions Team (DOST) to establish focused effort to improve overall data management for the organization's data consumers. The scope for DOST includes the ownership, governance and operations of core product & reference data repositories and serves data to groups including regulatory reporting, capital, liquidity, management reporting and other areas. As a group, DOST is uniquely positioned as the single point of data gathering for the enterprise for top-of-the-house performance monitoring, and as such, can offer the data necessary to support future business initiatives.
As part of a growth in demand for data, DOST is seeking for a Business Analysis lead as a professional with extensive expertise combining a unique blend of Finance, Treasury, Risk and reporting experience to create robust insights and analytical solutions. This individual will be in charge of leading a team responsible for delivering outstanding data driven and reporting solutions for Finance, Treasury and Risk teams, in partnership with technology teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of data analysis, financial products, regulatory practices, and business intelligence best practices, along with leadership experience.
Responsibilities:
- Build collaborative bridges between business and IT to drive a data driven enterprise-wide solution.
- Functions as a liaison between business, and technical areas during the planning process and provides oversight throughout the project cycle.
- Develop sustainable data solutions with current and leading generation data technologies to meet the needs of the organization and business customers
- Ability to work closely and collaborate with key Finance, Treasury and Risk teams and turn end-user requests into actionable tools and insights
- Translate business problems into meaningful solutions using data and reporting
- Proactively identifies trends and insights to propose ideas and solutions that help develop new or optimize existing data distribution and strategy
- Collaborate with the DOST product, operations and strategy teams to establish sound data architectural solutioning and data governance processes
- Partner with Treasury to improve their processes (FTP, Liquidity, Capital.. Etc.) via improved data capabilities
- Ability to lead a team that synthesizes and simplifies complex problems for management and executive leaders in the organization
- Coaches and develops business processes, managerial and leadership skills of direct reports be a role model for leadership behaviors
Education and experience qualifications(s):
- 15+ years of experience in working with finance or in the financial service industry
- Expertise in business analysis, data analysis, data operations or other related fields
- A Master's/bachelor's degree in business or related financial field (or its equivalental) along with proven hands on technical experience
- Proven ability in driving initiatives for reducing cost, increasing operational efficiencies and meeting mission-critical business objectives.
- High business acumen and excellent communication skills, which are required to build relationships with internal stakeholders across the organization.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, team environment with aggressive deadlines, regular releases and multiple priorities.
- Critical thinking and inquisitiveness coupled with a desire to continuously learn new skills.
