We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

  • Forward plan and manage the Cloud Platform Release Calendar
  • Coordinate across product, engineering, delivery, and SRE teams to plan and execute release process on a regular 2-week cadence within an agile delivery environment
  • Form virtual release teams from the wider engineering community to ensure the right skillset mix for the release and provide over-arching management support for the team on weekends/evenings as required.
  • Own platform release communications to both internal and external stakeholders pre, during, and post release
  • Drive continuous risk assessment of release activity to ensure safety and reliability of platform services throughout.
  • Feed our continuous improvement backlog by establishing a data driven methodology for measuring release risk, cadence, failure rates, and inefficiency thereby identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Perform release post-mortems and retrospectives to ensure successful release completion, learn from failure, and manage any post-release fixes.
  • Maintain and enhance the release process documentation repository.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Minijmum 8 years of total experience is required.
  • Have 5+ years experience in Release Management with deep understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have the ability to coordinate across multiple teams to ensure release plans are completed safely, in time, and on schedule
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills in driving appropriate and timely stakeholder management
  • Possess strong understanding of CI/CD methodology and tools such as GIT, Jenkins, and Terraform
  • Release management experience in a cloud services environment (AWS preferred)
  • Understanding of Kubernetes concepts and implementations (e.g., EKS)
  • Demonstrate a high level of motivation, be detailed oriented, quick to learn, and the ability to execute with high quality and minimal supervision.
  • Learn from failure and tenaciously seek improvement in all areas of the release process.
  • Experience in Financial Services delivering web, api, and microservices products a plus.
