Job Title: Release Engineer

Experience: 6-10 Years

Responsibilities:

1. Plan and Manage Release Activities: Coordinate release planning, scheduling, and execution, working with cross-functional teams to define release scope, risks, and dependencies.

2. Establish Release Process and Policies: Develop and implement release management processes, standards, and policies to streamline and ensure the quality of deployments.

3. Coordinate with Stakeholders: Act as a central point of contact between development, testing, operations, and product teams to ensure successful deployment and alignment with business requirements.

4. Manage Release Calendar: Maintain a release calendar, coordinating release windows, blackout periods, and deployment schedules in alignment with project timelines and business needs.

5. Track Release Progress: Monitor and track progress throughout the release lifecycle, identifying and mitigating risks or issues that may impact timelines or quality.

6. Oversee Testing and Quality Assurance: Ensure that testing environments are ready and that thorough testing and quality assurance practices are followed prior to each release.

7. Conduct Release Reviews and Postmortems: Lead release review meetings, post-release analysis, and postmortems to capture lessons learned and improve future releases.

8. Automation and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automating and optimizing the release process, working with DevOps and engineering teams to implement CI/CD best practices. 9. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of release processes, schedules, and reports, providing stakeholders with regular updates on release activities and key metrics.

Requirements:

-Experience: 5+ years of experience in release management, deployment coordination, or related roles.

-Understanding of Release Management: Strong knowledge of release processes, change management, and software deployment best practices.

-Agile and DevOps Knowledge: Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.

-Project Management Skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and releases simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

- Familiarity with release management tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Jira, or Azure DevOps.

-Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and IaC tools (e.g., Terraform).

-Experience in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

-Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or Agile.
