About The Role
The Regulatory Officer plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and government requirements in Gomia. This role facilitates communication between the company and relevant government agencies in relation to the company's licenses and permits, including new product authorizations and new silos, manufacturing sites.
As an individual contributor, this role will assist the Regulatory Affairs Manager in India in preparing and submitting applications with concerned government bodies, regular follow-ups, providing clarifications and arranging meetings with relevant government bodies and official when required, monitoring changes in legislation and policy that may impact the company's operations.
What you will be doing
- Liaise with a wide range of government agencies, regulators and policy makers with regard to compliance, safety and security issues pertaining to the Company's licenses, permits and general operations.
- Support the Regulatory Affairs Manager, India in managing regulatory requirements of the business. This includes but is not limited to lodging all reports, applications for permits and licenses to relevant regulatory bodies in a timely fashion and ensuring the Company's compliance of existing operations and new plants/projects, etc.
- Develop and maintain a compliance calendar to track important deadlines (e.g., renewals), reporting requirements and relevant license and permit conditions. Ensures availability to Orica sites, and customers to present and work towards common goals of full compliance.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of compliance-related documents, including permits, licenses, and certificates.
- Ensure that all compliance documentation is readily and easily accessible.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with government officials, agencies, and relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with field operations, technical and manufacturing teams to support them in regulatory matters.
- Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations that affect the organization.
- Monitor changes in legislation and assess their impact on the organization's operations.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure compliance considerations are integrated into business decisions.
What you will bring
- Extensive experience in coordination and government relations, preferably in mining and explosive or other highly regulated industries
- Willing to relocate to Gomia
- Tertiary qualifications, at least Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Legal, Operations, or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to key stakeholders.
