Location : Chennai
Position Objective
The Technical Service Specialist is accountable for providing research, laboratory analysis and technical support to customers that consistently achieve the business unit targets. Responsible for developing in collaboration with Research & Development (R&D) experimental protocols and testing parameters, presentations, technical write-ups, and conducting trials with customers that lead to sales. Also responsible for analyzing and interpreting results and reporting findings to customers in a highly professional manner.
Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Conduct plant trials to proof quantifiable benefits to meet customer's success factors to purchase Kemin's solutions
- Provide technical assistance to sales team regarding product dosage(s), trial protocols, point of addition to meet customer's success factors
- Anticipate customer's needs and pain points acting as the trusted technical advisor using Needs Pay Off questioning from SPIN
- Proactively develop new sales tools and creative customer engagement activities
- Continuously train customers and upskill sales team
Technical Data & Documentation
- Proactively generate new technical science based qualitative, quantitative and sensorial data that ensures Kemin stays ahead of competition in all focus segments bakery, confectionery, sauces, seasoning, processed meat (not limited to these)
- Develop and maintain most up to date technical documentation, including product specifications, application guides, and troubleshooting manuals within SharePoint
- Collaborate with R&D & Product Management team to generate new products, localize products to focus countries and segments, renovate products that are not selling
Market Research
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and competitor activities
- Conduct market research to identify new product opportunities to meet industry gaps and/or customer pain points & unmet needs
In collaboration with the Leadership team, provide strategic directions for Kemin Food Technologies Asia to achieve the business unit leading and lagging indicators.
Qualifications
Min. Bachelor Food Nutrition/Biochemistry/Microbiology or other related discipline, from a recognized university Strong technical knowledge of food ingredients with minimum 5 years work experience in similar capacity Astute application background in bakery & confectionery and sauces & seasoning - Experience with plant trials and product demonstrations

- Working Conditions: The position will operate from Singapore/India and is expected to spend 40% travelling regionally within Asia. The position is considered 40 hours per week and requires flexibility to take evening calls between Americas, Europe and Asia.
