Digital R&D Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a technical expert for a specific product or system or its components. Each day, you will act as the primary contact in Research and Development (R&D) for (market-facing) Product Management and will support them on product-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by driving the technical direction of development (e.g. acting as product owner in an agile team) and by organizing product maintenance.The work model for the role is: role is contributing to the Motion Business Service division in Bangalore, India.You will be mainly accountable for:
- Providing input regarding product technology content or development based on a solid understanding of ABBs technology landscape, state-of-the-art external technology, and current or future customer need.
- Contributing actively to the quality of product or system, meeting functional and non-functional (e.g., performance, cost) requirements.
- Creating and translating the product vision into actionable steps by following an agreed direction in R&D.
- Ensuring protection of newly created IP embedded in the product and assisting in defense and enforcement activities vs. competition.
- You shape and innovate our IoT platform and applications that are providing condition monitoring services to our customers and internal users and You collaborate with product managers and contribute to the program vision and roadmap.
- You are the bridge between product management requirements and the development teams and You own the backlogs and ensure functionalities meet the stakeholders needs by specifying detailed user stories, and by defining clear acceptance criteria for the development and test teams.
- You align your activities in a multi-functional team of product managers and owners, scrum masters, architects, development, operations and test teams in an agile development process.
- You are available to the R&D and test teams to provide rapid feedback and ensure efficient execution of development activities.
Qualifications For The Role
- Bachelors or masters degree in engineering / technology with 14-16 years of experience in Software Development, Product Management and People Management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Team / People Management
- You possess strong knowledge in IoT domain with background of developing solutions using Microsoft platforms, C#, Big Data.
- Strong background in research and development practices and processes and Experienced in international and cross-cultural collaboration and leadership
- Strong team-leader with skills in team development and a focus on results and accountability
- Your knowledge about Traction converter / EV domain is added advantage.
- Your knowledge on tools and processes around DevOps is added advantage.
- You possess excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
