Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.
The work model for the role is hybrid.
This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power Innovation & Product Platform.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Designing, documenting, and implementing software development processes tailored to the specific needs and goals of the R&D department, considering factors such as project complexity, resource availability, and technology stack.Finding new ways of solving problems by following your ideas, creating hypotheses, and defining ways to validate them
- Ensuring that software development processes comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices, such as ISO, FDA, or industry-specific requirements, to maintain quality and regulatory compliance
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, DevOps) based on project requirements, team dynamics, and organizational objectives, and overseeing their adoption and execution
- Establishing and maintaining quality assurance measures, including code reviews, testing strategies, and quality gates, to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products that meet customer expectations and stakeholder requirements. Leading SW QMS website development, tracking and refining requirements, and maintaining the SW QMS website
- Identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in the software development process, and leading initiatives to optimize workflows, enhance productivity, and reduce time-to-market
- Collaborating closely with R&D teams, software developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to align software development processes with project goals, facilitate effective communication, and foster a culture of collaboration and transparency
- Providing training, guidance, and support to R&D staff on software development processes, tools, best practices, and methodologies, ensuring that team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles
- Identifying and mitigating risks associated with software development processes, including security vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and project dependencies, to ensure the successful and timely delivery of software projects
Qualifications For The Role
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 10 years of experience in software development process management, software engineering, or a related role, with a strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines governing software development processes, such as ISO 9001, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, or industry-specific requirements
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and drive change in a dynamic and collaborative environment
- Analytical mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions to optimize processes and improve performance
- Certification in relevant areas such as Project Management (PMP), Agile (e.g., Certified Scrum Master), or Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma), experience working in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, aerospace, automotive) with compliance requirements for software development, and familiarity with software development tools and technologies commonly used in R&D environments, such as version control systems, issue tracking systems, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, are preferred
