Your role and responsibilities

In this role, Intellectual Property Intelligence Analyst is an individual contributor in the team of Division Patent Officer. Her/his mission is to provide support to Division Patent Officer, Technology Manager, Project/Product Managers and R&D teams spread across the world, by conducting IP searches and analyses. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification business Smart Buildings division in Bangalore/Hyderabad, India. You will be mainly accountable for: She/he carries out Intelligence IP researches and IP landscape studies, specifically technology/business intelligence and patent/literature/market studies for assessing own IP position and trend, relative to third parties / key competitors. She/he also carries out various kinds of IP searches such as, Patentability, State-of-Art, Freedom-to-Operate, validity/invalidity, white-space, continuous searches and monitoring of third parties IP relating to ABB's specific research and technology area. IP Intelligence Analyst has an engineering/scientific education integrated with knowledge in Intellectual Property Rights, and has a basic technical understanding of electrification products and technologies, and provides training to the R&D teams in IP Intelligence topics. IP Intelligence Analyst is familiar with search tools (in particular for IP and commercial information) and methodologies, analyzes large amounts of information from different sources (technical, IP, market), and has strong analytical skills to comprehensively evaluate these data to reach logical, well-reasoned conclusions and to prepare detailed reports, as well as presentations to summarize findings and provide recommendations/conclusions: she/he is clear-thinking and rigorous in analyses, critical of data and evidence, comprehensive in approach, propositive in gathering conclusions and recommendations, effective in communication. Qualifications for the role

• Master's/bachelor's degree in science / engineering and 5+ years of experience in the job offered
• Familiarity with main public and commercial IP search tools and IP management tools, including patent and non-patent literature web sites, integrated by basic knowledge in Intellectual Property Rights in main jurisdictions (Europe, USA, India, China and PCT)
• Basic understanding of electrification products and technologies
• Customer orientation and communication skills, strong analytical and investigative skills
• Qualifications or equivalent expertise in advanced data analysis / AI is positively considered
