Building proprietary trading systems, our new team is a small, collegiate, and entrepreneurial department within Axi solving trading problems and finding opportunities. In the ever-changing financial markets, our trading systems must respond to market events at ever faster speeds, pricing a greater number of trading products to our clients and finding more sophisticated alphas to continually improve monetisation.
The role will involve working closely with our traders and quants to realise these ambitions of the firm to create and maintain novel trading solutions.

Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Design, develop, support, and maintain trading systems, tools, and infrastructure.
- Optimising performance and scalability of our trading and research systems helping unlock growth and alpha.
- Collaborate with traders, quants, risk, and the wider engineering team.
- Keeping up to date across industry developments and trends, the latest trading architecture and development techniques.
- Adhere to all Axi's policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Axi's internal processes.
Are you the one
- 5+ years of professional experience in financial, fintech and/or quant development.
- Expertise in low latency coding (primarily in Java, other low-level languages such as C++, C#).
- Proven analytical skills.
- Problem-solving attitude.
- Experienced at writing low latency software in Java.
- Experience with Chronicle software highly preferred.
- Experience with python.
- Experience working with tick databases (kdb+ and q highly preferred).
- Experience in entrepreneurial, high-pressure environments.
- Good understanding of financial markets, quantitative methods, and systematic trading
- Intelligent, pragmatic with strong engineering instincts and a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals.
- Ability to write well-architected simple code and continually improve that codebase.
- Advanced investigative and data analysis skills.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
