Job Description
Responsibilities
- Quality Culture in the group:
- The key role is to create the right Quality environment in the India operations
- This is a role that must change the quality focus in India operations with regular reviews, plant visits, discussions, trainings; target is to get the quality perspective of India operations at par with Customer expectations Institutionalize robust QMS system in the group
- Continuous training and awareness
- Build processes and systems to ensure Zero Defect Quality
Final Product Quality:
- Overall responsibility for all product quality issues including generation of CAPA and 8D by the plant
- Approval of all product testing protocols & performance testing schedules.
- Overall set up of quality function at each of the units and creating the right balance between investment in Cost of Good Quality v Cost of Bad Quality incurred due to issues
- Responsible for ensuring customer communication and resolution of quality related conflicts/issues is done by the plants local team in a timely and correct manner
- Responsible for all customer / product quality related CAPA's.
- Responsible for quality level (ppm) & cost of poor-quality reduction / reviews and improvement planning and control on delivered product quality.
- Responsible for ensuring corrective actions taken for past quality issues are being followed in a sustained manner and no re-occurrence of the past issues
- Responsible for regular interactions with customers on Quality issues.
Process Quality:
- Responsible for creating processes for quality measurements of process quality through manufacturing-embedded inspectors and monitoring the same with plants to ensure these are up to date and functioning well
- Responsible for all process quality communication to manufacturing managers.
Receipt Quality & SQA (Supplier Quality Assurance):
- Responsible for all supplier quality management systems along with SCM.
- Responsible for supplier quality development activities along with SCM.
- Responsible for all quality CAPA at receipt of material.
Standards Room:
- Responsible for creating a structure to ensure all activities of the standards room (calibration, maintenance of masters, supplier services, measurement standards).
- Responsible for all measurement systems analyses.
- Responsible for planned product and tooling layout inspections.
- Knowledge of Metallurgy, Drawing & ability to guide all functions on means results to results to resolve issues.
Training & Development
- Responsible for training of manufacturing staff and employees on quality in coordination with HR.
Organization Development
- Role-KRA definition & recruitment approvals with Region -Head of unit level quality staff and managers.
- Quality function's competence (structures, systems, people) development.
General Management
- Representation of the quality function within unit forums & with customers/suppliers.
- Inputs to manufacturing and administration staff for improvements in quality of processes/products/service.
- Conflict resolution between unit functions and quality.
- Conflict resolution between unit and customers/suppliers about quality.
- Responsible for Quality ppm.
- Responsible for external audits by certifying bodies.
