Position Summary

AutoZone's Quality Engineering Manager will possess good knowledge of quality engineering and test methodology concepts and provide strong leadership. You will be responsible to nurture and grow talent within the Quality engineering organization and manage full time and contract resources spanning multiple geographies (US, Mexico, and India). You will have the responsibility to manage and oversee quality engineering services across multiple projects and programs while collaborating with other quality engineering peers on regression and performance testing needs. QE Manager will help define and execute quality engineering strategy and roadmap. You'll also be responsible for identifying, analyzing

and developing improvements in productivity, quality, client relationships, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage test activities in successfully implementing applications across the enterprise.
  • Train and mentor all test engineering resources on quality assurance processes and technology.
  • Accomplish quality engineering human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, and counselling team members.
  • Plan/review team member compensation and enforce policies and procedures in alignment with HR and compensation policies.
  • Ensure teams adhere to the principles, guidelines, specific internal procedures, and best practices of the defined QE strategy.
  • Helps establish and nurture test automation skills within the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with all IT teams and QE Managers to understand objectives, gather testing and automation requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement test solutions.
  • Builds relationship with key business partners to identify and resolve business issues.
  • Prepare and conduct weekly project status with IT and business stakeholders.
  • Responsible for performing and leading the integration, system, and regression testing of software with both manual and automated test execution.
  • Ensure test data management best practices for full testing across integrated enterprise systems.
  • Develop environment controls to manage and test projects and initiatives across Dev, Test, Stage.
  • Conduct lessons learned throughout the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Provide leadership and expertise in defining and executing strategy across the enterprise for all aspects of quality engineering.
  • Plan test schedules in accordance with release and project schedules.
  • Track and analyze testing metrics to identify areas of improvement in the SDLC and make recommendations.
  • Manage quality engineering budget for projects and manage vendor partnerships.

Education Requirement And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or related field required.
  • At least 12 years of software test development and project management experience, including 2-4 years in management /leadership of direct reports.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Presentation, facilitation and writing skills.
  • Project management estimating, planning, controlling, risk management, issue resolution, and execution.
  • Should have experience in industry-leading test tools like Selenium, QTP, Hewlett-Packard Application Lifecycle Management (ALM/Quality Center), Service Virtualization or equivalent testing tools, Appium, Experitest, Squish, Jira, Agility.
  • Experience in the design and development of test automation solutions.
  • Process minded with a strict regard to detail.
  • Strong experience delivering software testing in an agile development environment.
  • Proven record of accomplishments for successfully planning, designing and executing system tests for enterprise applications.
  • Experience working and managing resources across different geographies.
  • Experience with a diverse set of quality assurance tools and environments.
