Position Summary:

The software quality assurance engineer will be responsible for test planning, test design, write automation scripts and create automation environments for repeated tests. Using different automation tools, you will design, test, and deploy effective test automation solutions. Your goal is to automate as much of the testing effort as possible with a minimum set of code. Work closely with solutions architects/consultants and business analysts to understand business requirements of stakeholders and to ensure software enhancements and fixes meet the documented needs.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Write, design, and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically.
Maximize test coverage for the most critical features of the system.
Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios.
Write documentation for automated processes including test plans, test procedures, and test cases.
Build test automation frameworks.
Log and document bugs in the tracking system.
Set up Continuous Integration.
Update automated testing scripts to ensure accuracy.
Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
Conduct software compatibility tests with programs.
Create and maintain a database of known test defects.
Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product design, schedules, or potential problems.
Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
Perform initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code pieces to determine breakdown source.
Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
Provide feedback and recommendations on software usability and functionality.
Monitor bug resolution efforts and track success.

Skills:

Good experience with Automation testing tools like Selenium (preferred), Cypress, Cucumber, Robot Framework is an added advantage.
Knowledge of Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket
Experience with Jira or another defect tracking tools.
Experience writing, developing, and executing test plans.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Functional, Regression, Performance, Integration, End to End testing experience
Experience in various delivery methodologies: Waterfall, Agile, & Scaled Agile
Experience with Automation of test scripts for regression testing.
Experience with API first testing will be a plus.
