Job Summary
Polaris Industries Inc. is seeking a QA Manager with extensive experience in application and performance testing for enterprise-level applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves leading our QA team to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and accuracy of our enterprise applications. The QA Manager will also drive the implementation and maintenance of comprehensive testing strategies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Drive Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve testing practices and ensure the highest quality standards.
- Process Development: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive QA processes and methodologies to ensure the highest levels of software quality and compliance.
- Testing Strategies: Define and drive the execution of manual and automated test strategies to validate the functionality, performance, and security of the software.
- Ensure Cross-Platform Compatibility: Conduct thorough testing to verify that applications function seamlessly across various web browsers and mobile devices. This includes performing mobile app testing to ensure optimal performance, usability, and responsiveness on both iOS and Android platforms.
- Project Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, product management, and customer support teams to understand requirements and ensure QA activities align with project goals and timelines.
- Defect Management: Oversee the tracking, reporting, and resolution of software defects, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Quality Metrics: Establish and monitor key quality metrics to assess the effectiveness of QA processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Documentation: Ensure comprehensive documentation of test cases, test plans, and QA processes to maintain transparency and facilitate ongoing improvement.
- Training and Development: Provide training and support to QA team members, enhancing their skills and knowledge in QA best practices and tools.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for QA-related matters, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders on QA activities and progress.
Skills & Knowledge
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software product quality engineering experience including test planning, implementation and execution
- 4+ years of Management experience leading technical teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or strong work equivalent
- Advanced working knowledge of test engineering processes and methodologies; Expertise in test planning, test case management, code coverage and defect analysis
- Thorough understanding of performance testing and automation testing
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
- Hiring, mentoring, and managing team of QA & Support Engineers
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
