Working in this role you will play a critical part in the operation of the BT Enterprise SRE & QA function. In Enterprise Quality Assurance team, we advocate for Quality across all the phases. As a Test professional for a specific domain within the in the Enterprise unit, the responsibility includes - right level of sizing & scoping for requirements for the product, formulate the test strategy and planning, identification of correct tools for performing testing, documents the risk and mitigation measures, track & monitor the progression of deliverables, drives automation across the phases of QA, tracks the QA efforts within the defined test points.
Working as part of a team of highly skilled specialists, you will play a vital role in creating capabilities that enable the QA function to deliver its commitments across Enterprise business Unit within the stipulated timeline. Will work closely with the Requirement leads/Business stakeholders, Solution Design, Engineering, Delivery & Inlife teams to ensure we deliver the requirements into production with Quality as per agreed milestone.
What you ll be doing
- Understand the testing effort by analyzing the requirements of project.
- Provide inputs on high-level test scenarios, challenges, risks, resources, test estimates, etc., during test planning meetings
- Develop the test plan for the tasks, dependencies and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality and obtain stakeholder support for this plan.
- Write and execute test cases to find system bugs like UI and usability issues, etc.
- Arrange the Hardware(physical/device/lab setup requirements) and software requirement for the Test Setup.
- Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes for testing as per standards defined by the organization.
- Check / Review the Test Cases documents.
- Keep track of the new requirements / change in requirements of the Project.
- Escalate the issues about project requirements and blockers(Software, Hardware, Resources) to Project Manager / Sr. Test Manager.
- Organize the status meetings and send the Status Report (Daily, Weekly etc.) to the Stakeholders
- Track and prepare the report of testing activities like test testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status, performance baselines etc.
- Ensure the timely delivery of different testing milestones.
- Prepares/updates the metrics dashboard at the end of a phase or at the completion of project.
- Knowledge on test tools and automation, focus on Automation at every possible stage of SDLC phase.
- Develop Automation scripts and focus on Automation first approach for all the new functional requirements
- Contribute for continuous improvement of their own team through retrospective findings
Skills required for the job
- Operational Experience: Front line experience of owning & driving incident resolution activities to restore service quickly and effectively in order to minimise business impact to all CFUs and external customers
- Stakeholder Management: Owns relationships at an operational level with CFU stakeholders and technical escalation points & be able to articulate complex problems to a senior manager/director audience
- Business Improvement: Experienced in driving performance and process improvements using data analysis and structured problem solving techniques to address the root cause of failures.
- Product Skills: Possess a technical and service knowledge of CFU products & service journeys and the technologies that underpins them
- Continuos Improvement: Skills in using business improvement processes to continually improve processes, anticipate risks and blockers
- Time Management: Strong time management skills in management of own processes and a wider matrix managed team.
Experience you would be expected to have
Mandatory 3+yrs
- Extensive Professional Test experience
- Knowledge on testing phases and concepts
- Strong OSS/BSS Telcom Domain Knowledge with Salesforce, ServiceNow, Ciena Blue Planet, Telecom Billing Expereince.
- Hands on experience on Test Automation framework development
- API Testing
- Strong Programming knowledge in Programming Java, Python.
- Automation Tools - Selenium,Browser Stack, Tosca,
- Performance Testing - J Meter, Blaze Meter
- Cloud Knowledge on AWS is Preferred
- Experience in monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, ELK, App Dynamics, Overops, Splunk and Kibana (Anyone).
- ISTQB Certification - Foundation Level
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Testing Concepts: Understands non-functional testing including: performance, resilience, usability, security penetration. Experienced in implementing a number of these. Aware of the tools that available to support these kinds of testing. Understands end-to-end and multi-system testing issues and techniques
