QA Engineer (Foundational Role)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a proactive and experienced QA Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in establishing our QA department. This is an exciting opportunity to create quality assurance processes and practices from the ground up, ensuring the highest standards for our software products. You will be responsible for ensuring our software meets high-quality standards before release, designing and executing test plans, identifying and documenting bugs, and collaborating with the development team to resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish QA Processes: Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements and specifications. Identify the testing scope and objectives for each project phase.

Tool Selection: Research, evaluate, and implement appropriate testing tools and technologies to support both automated and manual testing.

Test Design and Execution: Design, create, and execute automated and manual test scripts to ensure the functionality, performance, and reliability of our software products.

Quality Assurance: Perform various types of testing including functional, regression, integration, performance, and usability testing. Ensure the software meets all business, technical, and functional requirements.

Defect Tracking: Identify, log, and track software defects, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.

Documentation: Document QA processes, test cases, and testing outcomes. Maintain clear and comprehensive records of test activities.

Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve QA processes and practices, staying current with industry best practices and advancements in QA technologies.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and designers. Provide clear and concise documentation of test cases, procedures, and results.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA testing, with a proven track record of establishing or improving QA processes.
• Good Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC)

Technical Proficiency:

• Extensive experience in Test Automation using tools like Selenium webdriver, Rest Assured using Java. (Mandatory)
• Hands-on experience in Framework Designing for UI and API Automation.
• Familiarity with SQL and database testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Github Actions) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to analyse complex software systems and identify critical areas for testing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and adapt to changing requirements and environments.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner is preferred.
• Knowledge of Cloud Services: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCloud, Azure)
