Job Description
We are looking for an experienced QE Automation Engineer (Playwright) with 8-12 years of overall experience, and at least 2 years of relevant experience in Playwright, to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Playwright, a modern test automation framework. You will work closely with product developers, manual testers, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality software releases through efficient and reliable test automation practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automation Development: Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright for functional, regression, integration, and UI testing.
- Test Strategy: Collaborate with the QA team and developers to define automation test strategies, frameworks, and best practices to enhance product quality.
- Test Execution & Reporting: Execute automated tests, analyze results, and document defects. Ensure automation runs consistently in different environments (local, CI/CD pipelines).
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve the automation framework to increase test coverage, execution speed, and reliability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers to understand system features, business requirements, and integration points to ensure test cases align with product goals.
- Defect Identification & Troubleshooting: Investigate issues found during automated testing, assist in identifying root causes, and collaborate with developers to resolve them.
- Test Data Management: Work on creating and maintaining stable, reusable test data and environments for automation.
- Maintain Test Artifacts: Keep automation scripts, frameworks, and test data up to date with new feature releases and enhancements.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to support fast and efficient software delivery.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for automated test cases, frameworks, and best practices for future reference.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant Playwright Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation in web applications, including end-to-end and browser testing.
- Programming Language: Proficiency in JavaScript is a must. All test automation scripts will be written in JavaScript.
- Test Automation Frameworks: Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or similar.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with CI/CD tools and platforms like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Version Control: Proficiency in using Git for version control and collaboration on test code.
- Web Technologies: Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how to interact with them using automation tools.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes of issues quickly.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments, with an understanding of sprint cycles, user stories, and continuous delivery practices.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting issues, writing test plans, and collaborating with team members.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Performance Testing: Familiarity with performance testing using tools like Lighthouse or Playwright's built-in performance metrics.
- Cloud-Based Testing: Experience in cloud testing environments like AWS Device Farm, Sauce Labs, or BrowserStack.
- Cross-Browser Testing: Knowledge and experience of testing across multiple browsers and devices (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
- Test Reporting Tools: Familiarity with test reporting tools like Allure, TestRail, or other similar platforms.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in quality engineering or test automation, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience focused on Playwright or similar test automation frameworks.
