About This Team:
We are looking for a QA architect for the Product group called Jaspersoft.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Form a working knowledge of Jaspersoft products to understand key functions and underlying technologies to design and implement automated test coverage and test resources.
Write detailed test plans based on product/customer requirements (MRS/PRD and Use cases).
Improve test strategies, using modern testing frameworks, automation tools, and industry best practices. Collaborate with development teams to integrate testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
Help with executing test plans and share team status with stakeholders.
Document results, and file bugs into a bug-tracking system with sufficient information for engineering to resolve/reproduce the problem (configuration info, dumps, log files, databases, etc.).
Document, troubleshoot, and isolate problems encountered during testing.
Collecting customer feedback and ensuring their success is a key factor. Customers include not only external customers but also internal customers like Tech. Support and PS).
Work closely with engineering and marketing early in the development lifecycle (requirements and design stages) to gather test cases and minimize back-end critical paths.
Perform all aspects of verification, including functional, structural, regression, load, and system testing.
Provide mentorship and supervision for junior team members.
Provide technical guidance and expertise in troubleshooting complex software problems.
Required Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related fields
At least 8+ years of experience with QA processes, procedures, and tools
Deep understanding of software design and test principles, testing tools, and procedures.
Expertise in working with modern Relational Databases (SQL, RDBMS technologies).
Experience with NoSQL or BigData.
Proficiency in working with RESTful Web Services and API testing tools.
Experience with automated testing tools and principles.
Experience with programming languages like JavaScript, Java, or Python is a plus.
Good knowledge of modern Web technologies: HTML, CSS, JS (JS frameworks like React, Angular, and Vue.js are a plus).
A strong technical background coupled with in-depth experience testing or developing software for Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Cloud technologies: AWS. Azure, GCP, docker, k8s.
Soft Skills:
Ability to troubleshoot software problems.
Good problem-solving skills.
Communication Skills:
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional distributed teams across multiple time zones (India, Europe, US).
Desirable:
Experience working with Application Servers and frameworks like Tomcat, and Spring Boot.
Knowledge of modern Relational Databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLServer, Oracle).
Linux experience: Linux terminal, shell scripting.
Proven experience working with RESTful Web Services and API testing tools.
Previous experience as a QA Tech Lead or in a senior QA role.
