Specification

Essential

• 7+ years developing applications in Python targeting Linux and Windows
• IntelliJ or PyCharm

Desirable

• Experience in risk calculation (usage of analytical libraries)
• Experience with database and object storage integration (MSSQL, MongoDB, S3, KDB)
• Experience with messaging and event streaming technologies (RabbitMQ, TIBCO EMS, Kafka)

Beneficial

• Experience with task management and resource allocation tools (Jira)
• Experience with code management and tracking tools (Bitbucket)
• Experience with build/deployment pipelines (TeamCity, uDeploy)
• Awareness of test-driven-development and importance of test environments (QA/UAT)

Role

• Improving, designing, maintaining back-end software systems
• Liaising with other team leads and functional component owners to deliver new features
• Working with planning team to advise delivery timelines for business requests
• Reduce tech debt, ensuring use of latest and most secure components and libraries

Team Rates Risk

Our mission is to ensure risk, PnL, and PAA (profit and loss attribution analysis) is accurate and on time. The Markets business needs to efficiently protect revenue from client flow and our team provides a robust and scalable risk platform to the Rates business and other Markets businesses with exposure to Rates products. Our users are market makers and achieving an instantaneous buy low and sell high is rarely possible so they need a way to manage and hedge their risk. They also need to understand the performance of their book including their hedges. We help make all that happen by providing high availability services for real-time financial trade facilities.
