Responsibilities
As a Microsoft Purview Engineer, youll play a critical role in designing and implementing robust solutions for data governance, compliance, and risk management. Your expertise will contribute to Maintaining data security, ensuring regulatory compliance, and minimizing risks across the organization. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications:
- Design and Implementation of Microsoft Purview Solutions:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Microsoft Purview solutions.
- Create comprehensive data governance strategies, considering data classification, labeling (sensitivity labels), retention policies, and protection mechanisms.
Data Security Solutions
Develop and implement data security measures within Microsoft Purview.
Ensure Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Barriers, Information Protection, and Insider Risk Management are effectively configured and monitored.
- Data Governance Expertise:
- Utilize Microsoft Purview components such as Data Catalog, Data Estate Insights, Data Map, Data Policies, and Data Sharing.
- Implement data governance practices, including data audit, communication compliance, compliance manager, data lifecycle management, and eDiscovery.
- Collaboration And Communication
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and compliance officers.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Proven experience designing and implementing data governance solutions Using Microsoft Purview.
- Familiarity with data classification, labeling, and retention policies.
- Exposure to data security practices, including DLP and risk management.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Purview components (Data Catalog, Data Estate Insights, etc.).
- Knowledge of compliance tools such as Compliance Manager.
- Understanding of eDiscovery and records management.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to address complex data governance challenges.
