Purchase Officer

Location: Multisteer, Nagpur

Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Budget: 6 LPA

Overview: The Purchase Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for the efficient operation of the assembly line. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers. The Purchase Officer will ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in a cost-effective and timely manner, adhering to the company's standards and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Management:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
  • Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a stable supply chain.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations and audits.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing costs.
  • Monitor inventory usage and reorder materials as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the inventory management team to track and manage stock levels.

Cost Management:

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about pricing trends and changes in the supply market.
  • Prepare and analyze procurement reports to identify areas for improvement.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on procurement activities and performance.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the assembly, production, and quality control teams to understand their material and equipment needs.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely payments to suppliers.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and projects as required.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in procurement or supply chain management are a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Managerial Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to analyze procurement data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Work Environment:

  • This role requires working on-site at the Multisteer facility in Nagpur.
  • The Purchase Officer will spend a significant amount of time interacting with suppliers and coordinating with internal teams.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet procurement goals.
