This position is accountable for all aspects of the purchasing, raw materials, and supply chain activities for Pigments.
He/she will manage all aspects of supply chain operations to ensure that AOP objectives are met and exceeded, and conduct all responsibilities in compliance with policy.
Role and Responsibilities
- Analyze market structure, trends, technical developments and regulatory trends that impact competitiveness and/or affect availability and delivered cost of raw materials.
- Negotiate resolution of disputes, changes in scope and material price changes.
- Provide major raw material market trends to management every week.
- Communicate plans and roll-out new supplier programs to fully implement procurement strategies.
- Manage ongoing supplier relationships.
- Single point of contact for coordinating with accounts department for payment of vendors.
- Comply with all established departmental objectives with regard to supplier evaluations, sustainability initiatives, supplier visit reports, cost reduction reporting, etc. using the appropriate tools.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
- Streamlining systems and procedures for effective inventory control for ensuring ready availability of materials to meet production targets.
- Involve in releasing debit note to the supplier for rejected damage items.
- Assisting SCM , in negotiating and contracting requirement on a timely manner.
- Would be responsible for dispatch, Factory coordination.
- Solid market knowledge and ability to quickly become recognized internally and externally as knowledgeable in the supply markets for inorganic, organic and aromatic chemicals.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver persuasive argumentation in pricing and contract negotiations is essential.
- The ability to work professionally and effectively with Senior Managers in direct support of their objectives.
Candidate Profile:
- A minimum of 4 years relevant strategic procurement and/or commercial contracting experience or an MBA/MS with 2 years of relevant experience is required.
- Professional Certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic chemical manufacturing processes (Pigment manufacturing) and of the major factors that influence the markets and prices for the major materials are within the position s responsibility.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are required.
