Job Overview:
As a Purchase Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services necessary for our operations. Your responsibilities will include sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining accurate records of purchases. You will work closely with various departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of materials while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Proficient in using procurement software and MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Key Responsibilities:
Source suppliers and vendors for pharmaceutical raw materials, packaging materials, equipment's, and other goods and services required by the company.
Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and other factors to ensure the best value for the company.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and conditions.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including store, Engineering, Maintenance, production, quality assurance, and finance departments, to understand their procurement requirements and timelines.
Generate purchase orders, review purchase requisitions, and ensure accuracy of orders placed.
Monitor and track order status to ensure timely delivery of materials and services, resolving any issues or delays that may arise.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, including prices, quantities, and delivery dates, using appropriate documentation and systems.
Manage relationships with suppliers, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise, and working collaboratively to resolve them.
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain management in the pharmaceutical sector.
Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to optimize procurement operations and achieve greater efficiency.
