Purchase Engineer
The Purchase Engineer plays a critical role in our procurement department by ensuring the efficient sourcing and procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for our organization's operations. The role involves strategic vendor management, cost analysis, negotiation, and maintaining a strong supplier base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Selection and Management:
l Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and performance.
l Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
l Conduct regular supplier assessments and performance reviews.
- Sourcing and Procurement:
l Source materials, components, and services required for production and operations.
l Analyze market trends and pricing to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
l Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Cost Analysis and Budgeting:
l Analyze costs and pricing structures to optimize procurement strategies.
l Develop and manage procurement budgets.
l Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives.
l Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to ensure the quality and compliance of purchased materials and components.
l Resolve quality-related issues with suppliers promptly.
l Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and operational requirements.
l Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
l Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, invoices, and receipts.
l Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
l Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging suppliers.
l Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and technologies.
- Qualifications and Skills:
l Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
l Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
l Strong negotiation and communication skills.
l Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze cost data and market trends.
l Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
l Familiarity with quality control and inventory management principles.
l Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Preferred Qualifications:
l Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, or CPM).
