The Proposal Engineer is primarily responsible for timely delivery of technical and commercial proposal after evaluating the overall technical specifications and scope of the customer's requirement.
He/she will provide support to the customer-facing sales by evaluating, discussing and understanding customers requirements/ enquiry and demonstrating expertise in building optimized technical and commercial proposal.
Proposal Engineer's responsibilities will include:
- Support the regional sales organization by building and timely delivering techno-commercially compliant proposals.
- Review customer requirements, draft technical solutions, generate compliance sheets, identify technical & commercial risks, and work closely with Sales, Engineering, Projects team to develop and deliver client centric proposals which are techno-commercially compliant and tailored to the unique demands of the individual RFP requirements.
- Create customized solutions under special consideration of the regional regulations and local and international metrology requirements and certifications.
- Respond and close technical and other queries as part of the bid evaluation process of customer.
- Take complete ownership of the proposal process for the entire sales cycle, interact with vendors & technically and commercially evaluate bought out products / solutions, prepare overall costing and follow the necessary internal approvals and compliances for commercial proposal submission to the customer.
- Provide cross-functional alignment to support customer sale and decision process, participating in sales qualification strategy planning and hand-over to delivery team.
- Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
The Proposal Engineer must have combination of commercial and technical skills and the ability to apply Sensia portfolio of product and solutions and business value to prepare the proposal for a broad spectrum of customers, from EPCs, OEMs to the end user.
Education:
- Bachelor Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics.
- Experience and Knowledge:
- Minimum 10 years experience in Process Automation / Industrial Automation.
- Experience in working on proposals and cost estimation for Automation Solutions in Oil & Gas industry.
- In depth knowledge of oil & gas industry codes and standards related to Automation & Control and Safety solutions.
- Knowledge and expertise in DCS, Process & Safety PLC, Communication networks, Supervisory systems, RTU, F&G systems is required.
- Knowledge in understanding and evaluation of IT technologies including Hardware & Software and Panel components.
- Knowledge in Field instrumentation, IIOT and other emerging industrial technologies is desirable.
- Knowledge of various applications in the value chain of the Oil & Gas Industry is desirable.
- Technical sales / Pre-sales support experience in oil and gas industry is desirable.

- Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other Business & Internet applications.
- Verbal and written proficiency in English.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have proven business sense when dealing with clients and sourcing of projects.
- Able and willing to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed.
