What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be

• Receive and handle inquiries from clients

n

• nPreparation of clear and definitive technical and commercial proposals in accordance with defined scopes of supply.

n

• nMake, prepare, agree and monitor proposals based on inquiries received from the clients.

n

• nMake, prepare, agree, revise and monitor proposals cost make up sheet is reflected in the proposal on each revision

n

• nEffectively check and control the selection of the equipment will match the client's expectation and the Howden standards to avoid development of new types of equipment, eg. Bearing types, element types, blade types, hub types e.t.c

n

• nReceive , prepare and agree all technical quires from clients

n

• nReceive, prepare and agree all commercial quires from clients.

n

• nEffectively check and control the contract with a contract review in accordance to office procedure.

n

• nCo-ordinate the proposal process between Sales, Supply Chain and various internal functional departments and manage responses in line with the proposal schedule and customer requirements.

n

• nEvaluate competitive bids for equipment in order to provide cost effective solutions

n

• nReview, in conjunction with various functional departments, enquiry documents and obtain clarifications where required to ensure that company design standards and customer specifications are maintained.

n

• nAttend Technical Clarification Meetings with customers and sub-contractors when required to clarify any technical issues and meet customer needs.

n

• nClarify the client's technical issues and manage company/client relationship to ensure the highest level of service.

n

• nEnsure Company policies, procedures and norms are followed for all proposals activities to ensure the highest level of quality.

n

Your Education Should Be

Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours.

• Educated to Degree level or equivalent in engineering related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation and Chemical).

n

• n5 years - Experience of a proposals function in a highly technical sales environment (preferably from rotating equipment divisions)

n

• nCommercial awareness to produce competitive, cost effective proposals

n

• nBasic knowledge of process design techniques and interpretation of results into mechanical equipment details.

n

• nProcess knowledge on control philosophy and should be equipped with hands on awareness on P&ID and process instruments

n

• nLeadership, communication, negotiating, influencing and inter-personal skills.

n

• nKnowledge of and commitment to customer service, financial control and engineering quality.

n

• nGood Communication skills

n

• nMicrosoft Office plus VB ( Macros ) would be an added advantage

n

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require

• Basic design, application knowledge and experience gained on Rotating equipment (specifically on Centrifugal fans, Axial Fans, Blowers) with an Engineering Contracting Company in the field of Tunnels & Metro, Cement, Steel, Power and Petrochemicals, Refineries, Oil and Gas.

• nKnowledge on Tunnels & Cement, Steel, Power, PCOG industries & Applications, API Standards of Fans , Bought out components Forgings, Castings, Electrical and Instrumentation items .

n

• nUnderstanding of the requirements and key interfaces with other engineering disciplines and how these link to the design and operation of Fan, control systems, safety, mechanical, electrical, commissioning, and operations.

n

Working knowledge of international standards such as ISO 5801, BS , AMCA and API or similar

Your Professional Experience Should Be

• Examination and analysis of project requirements and the provision of viable technical and commercial solutions, using sound engineering design practices, and identifying specific items of equipment to ensure that systems accomplish their unique process objectives.

• nAssessment of commercial, technical and delivery risks associated with the project and the capability to execute the contract efficiently and cost effectively.
