The MIG/MAG Welder will be responsible for performing welding tasks on a vehicle maintenance project. The position requires the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, as well as operate welding equipment to join metal parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Determine the appropriate welding technique based on the type and thickness of metal.
- Operate welding equipment to join metal parts using MIG/MAG welding techniques.
- Conduct inspections to ensure the quality of the welds meet project specifications.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Work with project managers to prioritize welding tasks based on the needs of the project.
- Keep accurate records of all welding work performed.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools.
- Train and supervise junior welders as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a welding program or relevant work experience.
- Experience working with MIG/MAG welding techniques.
- Knowledge of different welding methods and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to stand or kneel for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
