Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the development and implementation of Custom Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) software applications for our multinational client. This role involves managing the full software development lifecycle, from gathering client requirements to final deployment and support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, engineers, and QA, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software application development, particularly in the manufacturing domain, with a focus on MES solutions

Key Responsibilities:

Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics based on client requirements for the MES software application. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to ensure a smooth development process.

Work closely with clients to gather requirements, understand their manufacturing processes, and translate those into MES software functionalities. Act as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring alignment with project goals throughout the development lifecycle.

Identify potential risks related to software development and MES implementation and develop risk mitigation strategies. Address issues proactively to avoid delays and ensure project success.

Ensure that all project deliverables are completed on time by managing the project schedule and coordinating team activities. Adjust timelines as necessary to meet development goals and client expectations.

Lead the internal and client-side project teams, ensuring clear communication, setting expectations, and driving the successful completion of each project phase. Conduct regular meetings to assess progress and resolve any challenges.

Provide regular status updates to clients and internal stakeholders. Ensure transparency in project progress, challenges, and changes to scope or timeline, while managing expectations effectively.

Oversee the quality assurance process to ensure the MES solution meets the client's functional, technical, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate testing, validation, and user acceptance processes.

Manage the deployment of the MES solution at the client site. Work with the client's production, IT, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with their existing systems (e.g., ERP, SCADA, PLCs). Oversee post-deployment support and training.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in project management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

5+ years of experience managing client-facing MES or similar industrial automation projects.

5+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional projects.

In-depth knowledge of MES platforms and their integration with other manufacturing systems like ERP, PLCs, SCADA, and data acquisition systems.

Strong problem-solving abilities

Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or equivalent.

Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work closely with clients and internal teams.

Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.

PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certification is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with MES systems such as Siemens, Rockwell, or similar platforms.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes and knowledge of industry standards like ISA-95 and best practices in MES implementation

Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies

Experience with industrial IoT (IIoT) technologies and automation systems.

Strong change management and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to mentor and coach junior project managers or team members.
