BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
TE Industrial is a $1.8B global business unit within IS (Industrial Solutions), a full-fledged P&L with Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Industry Marketing. ROLE OBJECTIVE:
Provides supervision on technical aspects of planning, design, coordination of engineering projects/processes to ensure successful implementation. Role may require providing supervision to other Engineering project managers & support them in engineering project execution.
In addition, the successful candidate will drive various strategic projects across the Engineering function according to the technology/engineering strategy of the Business Unit.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead multiple medium to high complexity Central engineering projects including Digital engineering project implementation for IND BU. Role may also require leading some New Product Development projects with end to end ownership of projects to deliver outcomes
- Support and coordinate with stakeholders in development of the sustainability program strategy for engineering and execution of the plan to meet business goals
- Interface with PMO leaders and Engineering leaders of sub verticals to deliver outcomes for central engineering projects
- Excellent leadership ability to manage cross functional project team.
- Stakeholder management Manages stakeholder expectations. Setting up cadence with stakeholders for smooth execution of projects.
- Cost Control: Manage the Project Capital, Expense and Resource Expenditures to stay within budget and ensure that the financial metrics are met.
- Economic Analysis: Support alternatives evaluation, variance analysis, cost calculations, etc.
- Communications: Develop the Project Communication Plan, lead periodic Management Level Project Reviews, Report Project Progress.Developing project schedules, resource requirements and budget forecasts. Tracking and reporting on project progress and product cost
- Change Management: Perform integrated Change Management Control
- Addressing and resolving issues/impediments in project
- Monitoring coordination of internal resources with appropriate department, resolving operational issues, and ensuring project implementation on time, on cost, on quality.
- Effective project Risk management: create, monitor, and control risk management plans.
EDUCATION & CRITICAL EXPERIENCE:
- BE/B TECH in engineering with Min 8+ or M tech with 6+ years of experience.
- 4+ years of Project Management experience in industrial product / Hardware domain
- Distributed & multi-cultural team management experience.
- Exposure to Digital engineering processes, tools
COMPETENCIES (TECHNICAL & BEHAVIOURAL):
FUNCTIONAL: MUST HAVE
- In depth understanding of Toll Gate / Stage Gate process in Product development.
- Experience in effective project management strategies and tactics.
- Extensive experience in project planning & execution
- Extensive experience in Leading teams to success, collaborate across boundaries, track results, and develop Communication and responsibility matrix.
- Demonstrated strong customer focus and continues improvement attitude.
- Experience in Stakeholder management, requirement management.
- Fluent in English with good verbal and written communications skills, ability to communicate Globally at all levels internally and externally.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Project
- Proficient with MS office tools (XL, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proficient in project ROI analysis (NPV, IRR, Payback period)
- Work along with CFT for problem solving and brainstorming.
- Green / black Belt (good to have)
- Kaizen facilitator (good to have)
PREFERABLE:
- Exposure to Digital engineering process and tools.
- Exposure to regulatory approval process such as UL, CSA, CQC, VDE etc.
- Experience in Terminal and connector industry or products.
- Certified PMP or equivalent project management certifications.
