About the Project
The project aims to drive high-fidelity implementation of a Foundational Literacy and Numeracy mission at the school level, significantly improving student learning outcomes and classroom practices in 100+ schools. The district-level implementation team will support teachers through classroom observations, actionable feedback, continuous upskilling in instructional practices, and data-driven instruction. The program will be rigorously evaluated through a randomized control trial (RCT) led by researchers.
Position Summary
The Project Manager (PM) will execute the project's implementation at the school level, focusing on driving significant improvements in student learning outcomes and classroom practices in a portfolio of 20+ schools. They should also be comfortable in tier 3-4 locations with extensive travel to interior field locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining relationships with school heads and administrators to ensure smooth implementation.
- Delivering impactful school-level interventions, including classroom observations, feedback, instructional skill-building, and data-driven instruction through regular school visits.
- Using student learning and classroom observation data to improve program quality and create action plans for improvement.
- Collaborating with the Project Lead to plan school visits, review performance, and identify future priorities.
Desired Experience and Skills
- The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in school improvement within the non-profit or educational sectors, with a proven track record of improving student outcomes and teacher capacity, especially in low-income or government school contexts.
- Expertise in foundational literacy and numeracy, teacher training, classroom observations, instructional coaching, and student assessments.
- Bachelors/Masters degree in education, child development, or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to influence and support teachers through relationship-building, providing academic solutions, and using data for pragmatic action plans.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Hindi, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Willingness to work independently, manage ambiguity, and travel extensively to interior locations.
