Practice Area
BCG's Financial Institutions Practice Area (FIP) aims to be the consultant of choice for leaders in the financial industry. We seek to achieve that goal by helping clients find their way amid the ever-evolving, ever-shifting competitive landscape. By focusing on the fundamental economics of their businesses and the underlying needs of their customers, we help banks, brokerages, asset managers and other financial- services organizations rethink their strategic assumptions, identify winning business propositions, and seize new opportunities in the expanding digital environment.
What You'll Do
As a Project Leader in BCG's Financial Institutions Practice, you will:
- Lead and manage consulting projects focused on strategic and digital transformation initiatives within the banking, insurance, fintech, payments, and NBFC sectors.
- Engage closely with clients, including Indian banks, PSUs, and government banks, delivering high-impact solutions and guiding Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies.
- Lead implementation programs and ensure effective delivery of solutions.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders at the CEO/CXO level, ensuring project alignment with client needs and exceeding expectations in delivery.
- Drive business development efforts, identifying opportunities for deeper engagement and new client acquisition.
- Mentor and lead a team of consultants, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional growth and excellence in delivery.
- Contribute to the development of intellectual capital, enhancing BCG's thought leadership in the financial services industry.
What You'll Bring
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, including significant time spent in consulting roles with firm.
- Extensive experience working with financial institutions, particularly in banking, insurance, fintech, payments, and NBFCs, on strategic and digital transformation projects.
- Experience in functional areas such as analytics, risk management, etc., is a plus.
- Strong project management skills and experience leading teams in a client-facing environment, preferably a tenured manager in his/her current role with a proven track record within consulting or top-tier industry companies.
- A proven track record of leading and managing teams in complex project environments and delivering implementation programs.
- Experience working and interacting with senior leaders at the CEO/CXO level.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically to solve complex client issues.
- Prior experience in or with Indian banks or clients is essential, as it provides a deep understanding of the local market dynamics and regulatory environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; additional local language skills are preferable.
- Flexible, creative, and curious, able to innovate and propose new ideas, exercise independent judgment, and thrive in diverse team settings.
- Strong academics from a top-tier institution. An MBA is desirable but not essential.
- Willingness to travel and to work remotely on client sites.
