Aawaj Jankalyan Samiti works in the area of youth and adolescent empowerment and other core areas of child rights and community development in Bhopal and across the state. The organization particularly focuses on system building and engaging with various platforms for adolescent and youth networks. Aawaj has experience, skills, and competencies to address issues of child rights and protection, and to strengthen the capacity of government officials across the state on various issues related to children, adolescents, and youth. Aawaj has programs focused on Child Protection, with some specifically addressing child trafficking.
This program aims to contribute to the mission of ending violence against children and advancing the empowerment of adolescents, with a focus on ending child marriage in the state. The program adopts a gender-transformative approach, including positive masculinities as a key strategy. The strategic focus is to strengthen the system to prevent violence against children and other forms of vulnerabilities and exploitation, with an extensive reach to youth to empower them as advocates for children's protection, with a strong equity and gender focus. The Gender Transformative Approach, including positive masculinities, is being integrated into key program activities and strategic engagements.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced/knowledgeable Project Coordinator to join our team. The required candidate will be responsible for:
*Coordinating and implementing child protection training programs (online and offline) for youth, with a focus on working with Child Protection Clubs (CP Clubs) in colleges.
*Developing and delivering training sessions and workshops on child protection and gender equality sensitization for CP Club members.
*Collaborating with stakeholders, including government agencies, college students, professors, and NGOs.
*Working to protect child rights and advocate for policy changes.
*Developing and implementing strategies to engage our target group on child protection issues, with a focus on gender equality and sensitization.
*Conducting training programs on child protection, gender, and masculinity for Program Officers in all districts to enhance their capacity on child protection and gender equality.
*Traveling to various districts for training and capacity-building programs.
*Coordinating the interns working statewide on CP issues.
*Developing resource materials for young girls and boys on CP.
Education, Qualification and Experience:
*Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
*At least 2 years of experience in child protection, training, or a related field
Experience working in an NGO.
*Knowledge of working on child protection. Familiarity with child protection policies and procedures.
*Strong knowledge of child rights and protection laws (preferably UNCRC)
*Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
*Proficiency in English (writing and understanding) and Hindi (Reading, Writing and Speaking)
*Experience in designing and delivering training programs.
*Knowledge of online training platforms and tools.
