We are looking for Program Manager Profile: Kavach solution (Safety-Related Train Control System)
A highly experienced Program Manager with a strong background in managing safety-critical projects within the rail industry. Responsible for monitoring and steering Kavach solution rollout across the full value chain for customer projects in India, in collaboration with multiple stakeholders in India and abroad. Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams through the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept through to first manufacturing. Adept at ensuring compliance with safety standards, managing risks, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, capable of managing cross-functional teams and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality cost competitive solution. Involves cooperation with internal stakeholders in organization, knowledge of signalling and train control system products and exposure to rail safety norms / regulations.
- Concept Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Conduct market research and feasibility studies, wherever necessary, to validate concepts.
- Planning and Execution: Develop and manage plans, timelines, resource allocation and budgets. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Manage prototype / pilot runs and address any issues that arise.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, supply chain, regulatory bodies, and manufacturing partners. Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure project success. Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates and managing expectations.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle. Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Provide guidance and support to team members.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure the safety and reliability of the train control system. Conduct regular reviews and audits. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Implement quality control processes and ensure product meets specifications.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant safety regulations and standards. Liaise with regulatory authorities as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project outcomes and efficiency.
- Cost Management: Develop and implement strategies to ensure cost-effective solutions. Monitor project expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
- Lean Methodologies: Apply lean principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Desired Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, with at least 5 years in the rail industry or a similar safety-critical environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of signalling and train control systems, safety standards (e.g., CENELEC, IEC 61508), and regulatory requirements.
- Leadership: Proven leadership skills with intercultural experience and ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capable of making informed decisions under pressure.
- Certification: PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.
- Lean Expertise: Knowledge of lean methodologies and experience in implementing lean practices.
