Join us as a Program Delivery Manager at Barclays where you will support the acceleration of a new digital platform capability, transforming and modernizing our digital estate to build a market-leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart. This is an exciting and key role, partnering with business aligned engineering and product teams, to ensure a collaborative team culture is at the heart of what we do.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, We are seeking an experienced Technology Delivery Manager to lead our Change Capacity Creation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in the Banking and Financial Services (BFS) domain, with a proven track record of handling large and complex programs. This role requires strong program management and governance skills to ensure successful delivery of technology projects. Key Responsibilities:


Lead and manage large-scale technology programs within the BFS domain, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals. Oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, financials, budgeting and closure. Develop and implement program governance frameworks to ensure effective decision-making, risk management, and issue resolution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business, and external vendors, to drive project success. Monitor program performance and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders. Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact program delivery. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Purpose of the role

To manage the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects and capabilities across the bank and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, adhering to agreed time, budget and quality requirements.

Accountabilities

  • Management of the delivery, resource allocation and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and the execution of sprints.
  • Collaboration with customers and business teams to manage and implement customer trails to support the proposal of technically feasible solutions, and effort and timeline expectations.
  • Collaboration with software engineers, quality teams, product managers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle aligned to the banks objectives, regulation and security policies.
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.
  • Management of change requests and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Management of vendor relations involved in technical projects to ensure they deliver according to agreed terms.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improving deliver outcomes and to foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. Complex information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
