nMessaging and Collaboration Systems Engineer Opportunity

nOkta's Messaging and Collaboration Engineers perform a critical role in defining and maintaining the email and collaboration platforms. This role within the Business Technology (BT) Engineering Services org offers the opportunity to be part of the evolution of end-user messaging, collaboration, search, and productivity technologies across the company. You will research, re-design, and build detailed solutions/repeatable patterns (run books) for internal BT and end-users, transitioning knowledge to BT Service Desk, and provide 3rd level support when advance troubleshooting is required.

nThe ideal candidate is a messaging, collaboration, and productivity product engineer who has proven experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining a standard delivery operation model. This role's focus is collaboration and productivity services: Google Workspace, Slack, Proofpoint, Atlassian Technologies, and other corporate SaaS applications.

nYou will be an integral part of the core team responsible for maintaining redundant, scalable, and secure systems infrastructure. This position entails taking ownership of the Enterprise Systems used at Okta and contributing to the development of backend systems that will support the company's growth. You should possess the ability to drive projects from inception to completion, including identifying areas for improvement, researching optimal solutions, effectively communicating your chosen approach to others, and implementing the solution. You are a proactive individual who combines analytical thinking with hands-on execution. You have ambitious goals and possess the drive to turn them into reality. nWhat you'll be doing

• Manage backend services as relates to Collaboration systems including Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, Microsoft O365, AzureAD, and Proofpoint Technologies
n

3-4 years of Google Workspace experience requiredProvide and follow best practices for collaboration architecturesPlan and document changes in the environmentCreate and manage automation and integrations between servicesOffer guidance to manage all aspects of the messaging and collaboration environmentsSupport users and the Service Desk with issues related to connectivity and usabilityManage the overall security of the collaboration environmentRun Analytic reports as needed for collaboration products for BT and Security leadershipExperience in defining/generating reports and metrics.

nWhat you'll bring to the role

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or minimum of 5 years of directly relevant experience

• Relevant IT industry certifications (Okta, ITIL, GPCE, MCSA, MCITP, or MCTS).

• Deep knowledge of messaging technologies and understanding of Sender Policy Framework (SPF), DKIM records
n
• Ability to create scripts to invoke changes and gather data (such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
n
• Knowledge of using REST APIs
n
• Able to work with vendors to introduce new collaborative and innovative features to the collaboration environment
n
• Will be required to be accessible 24x7 in case of emergency
n
• Strong written and oral communications skills, specifically technical documentation.
