Manages supply chain product flows from procurement through distribution, to support customer requirements
Schedules procurement, manufacturing, and distribution for a specified group of products typically high volume/high value products

Determines raw material, semi-finished and finished goods inventory buffer quantities and actively manages these to optimize business investment
Monitors and reports capacity requirements, special order and stock service levels
