About the role
Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations within the manufacturing facility. This role involves ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, managing staff, and adhering to regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, extrusion technology & leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the pet food plant, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Extrusion Production: Oversee and optimize the extrusion production line, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to production schedules. Drive process improvements, cost reduction, and machine performance, while coordinating maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet company and regulatory standards.
- Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage plant personnel; foster a positive work environment and promote employee development.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the plant budget, optimizing resource allocation and cost control.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to food safety regulations, statutory compliances of Factory , health and safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance production efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, supply chain, cross function dept., and marketing teams to align production with business objectives and product launches.
Who are we looking for
Experience: 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing, with experience in pet food production being a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in food science, Animal Nutrition, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of extrusion processes
- Strong understanding of nutrition, ingredient functionality, and food safety regulations.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data analysis, performance metrics, and production planning software.
