Who we are looking for: We are seeking a seasoned and highly motivated Sr. Manager, Data Annotation to lead our new team in Chennai, India. The Sr. Manager, Data Annotation will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our annotation operations, focusing on delivering high-quality results efficiently. This role requires a strong leader who can manage, train, and inspire a team of annotators while ensuring that Monk AI's operational goals, in alignment with ACV Auctions broader objectives, are consistently met.
What you will do:1. Operational Leadership:- Lead and Manage: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Annotation team, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Result-Oriented Focus: Drive the team to achieve and exceed performance metrics related to quality, productivity, and turnaround times.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Treat Monk AI as a client, ensuring that the Indian team meets the company's needs with a strong focus on delivering results.
2. Team Training and Development:- Training: Develop and implement training programs to ensure all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform at their best.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess team performance and identify opportunities for further training and development, focusing on improving both speed and accuracy.
3. Performance Monitoring:- Daily Monitoring: Track the team's production rate and quality metrics daily, using established tools to ensure compliance with SLAs.
- Quality Assurance: Be responsible for the quality of the annotations, ensuring that the team consistently meets or exceeds the quality SLA of 95% and strives for 100%.
4. Process Optimization:- Efficiency Enhancements: Develop and share best practices and tips to improve the team's productivity and accuracy.
- Problem Solving: Actively identify and address issues that may hinder the team's performance, proposing pragmatic solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
5. Feedback and Reporting:- Centralize Feedback: Gather and relay feedback from the team to Monk AI, ensuring continuous communication and alignment with the company's goals.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to Monk AI and ACV Auctions on team performance, including production statistics, quality metrics, and any issues or challenges encountered.
6. Project Management:- Scope and Resource Management: Ensure that all projects are properly scoped, and resources are managed effectively to meet deadlines and client expectations.
- Agile Response: Be prepared to manage urgent projects at short notice while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
What you will need:- BS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years experience managing data labeling or annotation teams, working closely with the business stakeholders, producing reports, optimizing operational efficiencies of the team etc.
- In addition to the management experience, have at least 5+ years experience as an individual contributor actively working on data labeling or annotation projects with accuracy and high quality.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale operations, particularly in data annotation or a similar field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a pragmatic approach to challenges.
- Experience with quality control and process optimization.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with tools like Segments, Notion, Slack, and Google Suite is a plus.
- Experience with AI is a major plus.
- Fluent in French preferred
