Job Overview:
Engineer - Product QA (Mechanical) will collaborate with mechanical suppliers, and internal cross-functional teams, including Purchase, Store, Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, and Purchase, to ensure quality of electronics commodity incoming materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the Mechanical M-BOM requirements and co-ordinate with mechanical designers and vendors to develop and qualify NPI developments at supplier premises.
- Lead the inspection activities and qualify M-BOM parts in coordination with engineering teams.
- Collect, verify and validate the build reports and parameters from various vendors and upload in PLM. Ensure completion of the FAI/PSR of each M-BOM parts on time.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Design teams to collect the build / qualification test feedback and prepare lessons learnt report.
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement and contract manufacturers (Mechanical) to resolve all the technical queries on time.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement the same with due diligence.
- Prepare NPI build reports and process documentations including assembly instruction, critical to process parameters, specifications, and guidelines.
- Lead end to end the PSR process to completion and prepare complete build instruction package to transfer product to production state in PLM tool.
- Monitor metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness supply quality.
- Track and monitor quality complaints, release SCAR and coordinate with suppliers to ensure CA is implemented.
Requirements:
- Interpretation of Mechanical Drawing, M-BOM, Assembly Instructions, Mechanical standards, etc
- Die casting, Machining and Sheet metal processing knowledge is a must.
- Mechanical design knowledge is preferred.
- Familiarity with technical risk assessment and mitigation techniques in the context of NPI processes.
- Solid understanding of supplier management and negotiation principles.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory compliance requirements, and quality control methodologies.
- Experience with supplier quality management and conducting supplier audits is desirable.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders concurrently.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis, presentation and report preparation skills.
- Proven experience in mechanical fabrication process & quality activities.
