Role Description
- At the heart of Deutsche Bank is the Corporate Bank (CB), a market leader in cash management, trade finance, lending, trust and agency services and securities services, as well as risk management for foreign exchange and interest rates - Securities Services (SES) provides custody, clearing and settlement and fund services to global custodians, broker/dealers, and prime brokers as well as buy-side firms and other institutional clients.
- In SES, we are recruiting a fund accountant professional with deep traditional experience in accounting, instrument valuations, fund administration operations familiar with insurance/asset owner segments and who wants to further deepen and extend their career capabilities with digital data, cloud and artificial intelligence in fund services.
- As such, we offer the position of APAC regional product design and delivery subject matter expert (Accounting & Valuations) who will directly report into the Head of Client Solutions, Product management. The successful candidate will work with them and the other forward-looking stakeholders to drive a multi-year strategic transformation delivery roadmap and deliver positive impacts.
- The successful candidate should have interests to leverage their existing experience and expertise with leading technology, and to work with operations to facilitate and deliver new, automated impactful value for asset managers and owners. In doing so, candidate will collaborate across sales, operations, technology, and risks management teams to define, communicate, roadmap and deliver to agreed results and milestones, and function as an empowered subject matter leader in the ongoing fund services strategic transformation.

Your key responsibilities
- Commercially and strategically minded with responsibility to develop and execute thefund services strategy that aligns to the wider SES Strategy.
- Collaborate with Business, Technology, Operations, relationship management and other infrastructure stakeholders to deliver future-state front-to-back business architecture to create a scalable and efficient Target Operating Model for Fund Services.
- Face off with both Fund Services and the broader Securities Services Transformation team to ensure connectivity, driving and influencing the utilisation of budgets.
- Work with sales, operations, client relationship, technology, and risks management to implement digital and data-driven transformation services to clients across markets manage book of work propose ideas, identify, and escalate emerging risks, involve new facilitators and mitigate inhibitors of success.
- Work with Operations to review and streamline the range of services offered and establish standard & bespoke templates to realise scalability and cost saving.
- Subject Matter expert who supports set-up of accounting and financial instrument valuation methodologies for clients as required. Support trouble shooting, risks reviews, and contribute to RFPs and inquiries across Asian & European markets.
- Lead the design of the product collaborating with different subject matter experts like data engineers and developers, maintain product guide which includes definitions and detailed descriptions of fund services (accounting, financial instrument valuation, reporting services-financial statements, custom, regulatory, local accounting standards, data sources, etc.) targeting client segments (asset owners and asset managers), meeting regulatory requirements.
- Assist Business, Operations, and other fund services stakeholders to analyse local as well as global accounting standards, regulatory frameworks, policies, valuation practices etc to create new product offerings for existing & potential clients.
- Act as a risk manager, and appropriately assess risk of new & existing products and services that demonstrates safeguarding firm's reputations as well as of its clients and assets, by complying with applicable laws, rules, and regulation, adhering to Policies, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency and accountability.
- Be involved in relevant industry working groups related to fund administration and represent the organisation internally and externally as a senior fund services product specialist.
- Conduct internal trainings to existing & new employees as well as walk throughs with clients.
Your skills and experience
- 8 to 10+ years of fund administration operations, product management experience including client and regulatory reporting and financial year-end activities.
- 4 to 5+ years of experience in insurance fund administration or investment servicing operation requirements including look-through accounting, unit-linked funds, insurance assets accounting and segregated mandates.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Global fund administration lifecycle processes including exceptions and main risks. Expertise in IFRS and/or local equivalent accounting standards, financial instrument valuations and reporting in the asset management/owner industry.
- Demonstrated track record in timely deliveries and performance under time pressured situations.
- Proven analytical and skills to communicate (written/verbal/listening) clearly and in detail.
- Familiar with a matrix reporting environment, able to plan, empathetic and see from different point of views, driven and able to multi-task.
- Self-motivated, independent, multi-tasker, willing and able to take ownership of various parts of an initiative.
