Function/business Overview
This is a role for the Non-woven Abrasives business and is responsible to drive initiatives to achieve targeted sales and develop new market potential, coordinate with R&D, Process and Production for the development of new products for sustained competitive advantage and profitable growth, and to ensure timely fulfillment of customer requirements. Currently we are the largest Private Label supplier for scrubbers and sponges with active customers in FMCG industry.

Position: Product Engineer (Consumer products -Private labels)
Location: Bengaluru
Qualifications: BTech
Experience: 4 - 6 years relevant experience
Job Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Product Management
Product Portfolio Management Pricing & Profitability.
Achieve targeted sales for the Consumer range of products.
Introduce new products in the market.
Provide support to the sales team.
Coordinate with R&D team to develop new products.
New Product development through sourcing from Affiliate/ Non-Affiliate sources.
Liaise with sources within and outside the Saint-Gobain Group for sourcing of raw materials, finished products and transfer of technology.
Actively participate in brand management, promotional schemes, and marketing campaigns.
Design and deliver training to sales teams, customers and distributors.
Approve the item master, packing material, product acceptance criteria for manufactured and sourced items.
Key Account Management & Export Sales
Actively manage the top key accounts for increasing organic growth aided by new product launches.
Approval of artworks from a Legal Metrology/ PCR standpoint and approval of laminate colours and quality.
Timely price increases to meet the desired profitability.
Engage and develop competitive solutions based on Market Research data such as different shapes, colours, etc. for differentiation and first mover advantage (wherever possible).
Explore the potential of sale from neighboring export markets and accounts, in UAE and Middle East Africa etc.
Price & Channel Management
Achieve minimum price realization and gross margins.
Mapping of existing markets and segments, development of market specific product baskets, literature, etc.
Monitoring competition, future trends and devising strategies to counter threats or to capitalize on market changes.
Conversion (Enhancement) Support
Support the conversion teams to build capabilities across the spectrum i.e. Automating Pad cutting, enhancements in Packaging to offer a multitude of solutions, integrating systems to enhance work flow and ultimately the overall capacity and efficiency etc. Support with the development of Products, Packaging material and ultimately the finished goods delivered directly to the desired locations.
Coordination with Other Departments
Internal: Interaction with Customer Service Department, Purchase Department, Marketing Department and, Conversion Department.
External: Interaction withVendors, Suppliers, Design Agencies, Testing Labs.
