Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Product Development Intern to assist in the development of our clothing line. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in fashion and product development to gain hands-on experience in sourcing, fabric selection, and working with manufacturers. You will work closely with our founder and design team to ensure that every aspect of our product development process is executed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify potential manufacturers, suppliers, and fabric sources.
- Visit and negotiate with manufacturers to source products, materials, fabrics, and trims.
- Collaborate with the design team to finalize product designs, samples, and fabric choices.
- Assist in evaluating the quality of products, fabrics, trims, and materials to ensure they meet brand standards.
- Work on cost analysis and help negotiate pricing for materials and manufacturing services.
- Track sample development and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Support the team in finalizing product specs, tech packs, and production timelines.
- Stay up to date with fashion trends, textiles, and innovations in fabric technologies.
What Were Looking For:
- Passion for fashion and a keen interest in clothing production and design.
- Strong research and negotiation skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with suppliers and manufacturers.
- A self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and production processes is a plus.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work on-site and visit manufacturers when needed.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Previous experience in fashion production, sourcing, or an internship within a fashion brand is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
