Job Description
To maintain the International
Product Database Management System (PDM) and be responsible for accuracy and data integrity of product information used for both internal and external customer tools and technology. And, provide support to the Product Management Teams for the maintenance, development and creation of the Herman Miller product data within PDM.
Work closely with the Product Management, Database Team, IT, EOS, CET and pCon teams to ensure a continuous improvement philosophy is adopted on PDM. Work with IT to look for ways of developing and improving the PDM tool and its capabilities. To develop a knowledge and understanding of all Herman Miller's business systems (PDM, EOS, EOS Lite, Syteline, CET, etc.) and how they link together. To provide continuous feedback and communication with the product management & EOS teams on status of requested tasks. To support on any product, PDM or EOS issues by providing a highly responsive first level of support.
Responsibilities
- Work with accuracy and efficiency while meeting due dates and juggling various projects and timelines.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
- Working with the relevant Product Managers in Herman Miller, manage and update the Product Data Management System (PDM), to ensure the offer & pricing is accurate.
- Working with the relevant Database & R&D and Database team to set up all new product ranges in PDM to support the new Product Introduction process and produce complete and timely data extracts in line with the Project timescales.
- Produce monthly reports of all PDM activities carried out and send to the EOS & Product Management teams.
- React promptly to all PDM updates & maintenance requests from Product Management, Database & EOS support.
- Working with Product Management & IT, ensure all product handbooks & pricebook are kept up to date and made available where necessary.
- Ensure all new data entered into PDM is accurate and consistent in it's format.
- Establish and develop a support service for PDM which is reactive, quick and provides one point of call for all system-related enquiries.
- Work with Customer Care Process Improvement.
- Complete all works necessary to support yearly price increases in PDM.
- Accountable for system data accuracy, integrity, and completeness. Continually audit system for data integrity; provide input and testing for improving both processes and applications.
- Participate in a cross-functional team to research, identify and develop product information solutions necessary to bring a product offering to both internal and external client
- Set up Product Information decision tree for brand new, complex product offerings.
- Work with accuracy and efficiency while meeting due dates and juggling various projects and timeliness.
Skills & Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or a 3-year degree in any Computer Science or equivalent.
- At least six years experience in industry/commerce in Product Management role or Customer Service environment, with experience in project management.
- Experience relating to the office furniture industry.
- Highly competent with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer.
- Comfortable working as part of a team of professionals.
- Has the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and set priorities.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to write clearly and concisely.
- Able to articulate own thoughts clearly and persuade others.
- Able to complete regular tactical tasks with accuracy and timeliness.
