We are seeking a highly experienced Product Counsel with over 10 years of expertise in various legal domains, including Intellectual Property (IP), litigation, Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABAC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Data Protection policies, and legal risk assessment
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Legal Guidance: Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to the executive leadership team, particularly the CEO and CLRO, on various corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance, and risk management.
- IP Assets Management: Oversee the management of our company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets. Develop and implement strategies to protect and maximize the value of our IP assets.
- Litigation Management: Manage and oversee all aspects of litigation and dispute resolution, including assessing legal risks, developing litigation strategies, and engaging external counsel as necessary. Represent the company's interests in legal proceedings and negotiations.
- ABAC and AML Compliance: Provide support to the Director (Compliance) to ensure compliance with Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and develop comprehensive compliance programs. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement effective controls to mitigate compliance risks.
- Data Protection Policies: Develop and maintain robust data protection policies and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations, such as India's DPDP Act, the GDPR and the CCPA. Provide guidance on data privacy issues and oversee the handling of sensitive data. Assist with the implementation of Flutter International Privacy framework in India. Work closely with Junglee internal stakeholders on assessing the impact of the DPDP Rules (once released) and prepare compliance matrices.
- Legal Risk Assessment: Conduct ongoing assessments of legal risks and vulnerabilities facing the company and develop proactive strategies to address and mitigate these risks. Advise senior leadership on potential legal implications of business decisions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with leaders in Product, Tech, and Marketing functions to provide legal guidance and support on product development, technology initiatives, marketing campaigns, and other business activities.
Qualifications
- LL.B. (Bachelor's in Law) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Bar Association.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate law and relevant areas such as IP, litigation, compliance, and data protection.
- A background in digital/ internet/ gaming industries would be an added advantage- although not necessary.
- Proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel to senior executives and navigating complex legal challenges.
- Strong understanding of ABAC, AML, and data protection regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess legal risks and develop effective solutions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at the executive level.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing a team of legal professionals.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
